What happens when 300+ hot rods descend upon Houston's best-kept secret? We found out when the Hot Rod Tour of Texas rolled into Spindle Tap Brewery, transforming this hidden north Houston gem into a classic car paradise.

Bobby Sparkman, the mastermind behind the tour, shared with us how the journey began with 302 vehicles cruising across Texas. Though a few participants encountered mechanical challenges along the way—including one enthusiast who decided that blowing a transmission was the perfect excuse for an upgrade—the spirit of the tour remained undiminished with over 200 hot rods continuing the adventure.

The real discovery of our broadcast was Spindle Tap Brewery itself. Elizabeth Valentine, their Marketing and Events Manager, pulled back the curtain on this nine-year-old establishment that's far more than just a place to grab a craft beer. Sprawling across 3.5 acres, this family-friendly venue offers everything from putt-putt golf to cornhole tournaments, multiple music stages, and enough space to host both corporate events and car shows simultaneously.

What struck us most was how Spindle Tap has created something truly uncommon: a craft brewery where families are welcome at all hours, where award-winning IPAs share space with stouts and lighter options, and where the business model extends beyond beer to include logistics, crating, and warehousing operations. Their distribution now reaches seven states, yet they've maintained that local, hidden gem quality that makes stumbling upon them feel like finding buried treasure.

Whether you're a car enthusiast, a craft beer aficionado, or simply someone looking for a unique place to spend an afternoon, Spindle Tap represents the perfect intersection of Texas hospitality and craftsmanship. Next time you're looking for something off the beaten path, point your hot rod (or family sedan) toward this unexpected oasis where good people, good cars, and good beer come together.

I know it's about time.

00:00:50.848 --> 00:00:51.868
I don't know where you've been.

00:00:51.868 --> 00:00:52.969
Oh, scanning.

00:00:53.049 --> 00:00:55.671
Oh, scanning people in Scanning, you know?

00:00:56.012 --> 00:00:56.593
Checking them in.

00:00:56.593 --> 00:00:59.034
Yeah, You're killing me Smalls.

00:00:59.735 --> 00:01:00.877
So, how much?

00:01:00.896 --> 00:01:01.097
sleep.

00:01:01.097 --> 00:01:04.885
Have you gotten Two hours?

00:01:04.906 --> 00:01:05.126
last night.

00:01:05.126 --> 00:01:07.346
That's pretty good for the fast double After my phone call at midnight.

00:01:08.180 --> 00:01:10.768
Oh we didn't go to bed until like 2.30 this morning, got up at 5.

00:01:10.768 --> 00:01:17.430
Yeehaw, me and Johnny McGarity, we stayed up late until we emptied Di's chest.

00:01:17.430 --> 00:01:21.046
We kind of ran it empty.

00:01:23.040 --> 00:01:24.507
So everybody's been happy.

00:01:24.507 --> 00:01:26.344
Oh it's been a good trip.

00:01:26.344 --> 00:01:27.269
Good trip yeah.

00:01:27.900 --> 00:01:30.730
We've got a few that have had some mechanical difficulties.

00:01:30.730 --> 00:01:34.209
One from Missouri is going back on a trailer blew his transmission up, yeah.

00:01:34.951 --> 00:01:35.793
Well, we've seen your posts.

00:01:35.793 --> 00:01:37.760
They've got transmission repair places here.

00:01:38.000 --> 00:01:46.215
It was set up to repair it or replace it last night, but he wants to upgrade it, so he gonna you know, and that's part of the hot rod, that's exactly that's what I was just.

00:01:46.215 --> 00:01:47.858
I was just talking to him and that's what I said.

00:01:47.858 --> 00:01:48.822
I said you're doing it right.

00:01:48.822 --> 00:01:49.686
You're doing it right.

00:01:49.686 --> 00:01:56.469
Yeah, you'll never be happy if you don't do it the way you want and why didn't I do it shucks, you know exactly he already blew up one 4l60.

00:01:56.489 --> 00:01:58.320
He's like why do I want to put another one of those in?

00:01:58.381 --> 00:02:04.308
there we saw a couple that were pulled over for whatever reasons, but then at the next stop we saw them coming in.

00:02:04.308 --> 00:02:06.349
Yes, so nothing really major.

00:02:06.349 --> 00:02:07.552
The transmission obviously is major.

00:02:07.552 --> 00:02:08.092
That's a major.

00:02:08.092 --> 00:02:11.075
It could have been a flat tire or maybe an overheating hose.

00:02:11.075 --> 00:02:11.316
We had a.

00:02:11.395 --> 00:02:11.795
Bel Air.

00:02:11.795 --> 00:02:14.586
Not sure what happened.

00:02:14.586 --> 00:02:20.241
They worked on it for five hours on the side of the road and ended up leaving it at AutoZone parking lot and he's got a trailer coming and getting it.

00:02:20.241 --> 00:02:24.366
We think it's got probably some water in the gas, picked up some bad gas somewhere.

00:02:24.366 --> 00:02:28.349
Well, rare but those things do happen, it happens.

00:02:28.349 --> 00:02:30.192
But it's a single-barrel carburetor.

00:02:30.192 --> 00:02:35.137
Nobody's going to have that available, yeah, so that's kind of the plan with that.

00:02:36.782 --> 00:02:37.123
You bet.

00:02:37.123 --> 00:02:39.109
So how many are still on tour?

00:02:39.109 --> 00:02:39.770
What's?

00:02:39.790 --> 00:02:40.211
the number.

00:02:40.219 --> 00:02:41.444
We're a little over 200.

00:02:41.625 --> 00:02:42.528
A little over 200.

00:02:42.560 --> 00:02:45.348
We started with three correct 302.

00:02:45.348 --> 00:02:46.150
302.

00:02:46.150 --> 00:02:46.752
Okay, Very good.

00:02:46.752 --> 00:02:48.284
Well, they'll probably be around.

00:02:48.667 --> 00:02:48.967
Oh yeah.

00:02:49.120 --> 00:02:53.745
They'll probably be straggling in yes, yes, so you know we just talked to your better half.

00:02:54.385 --> 00:02:55.068
I can hear you all.

00:02:55.729 --> 00:02:56.832
You can hear us out there, yeah.

00:02:57.212 --> 00:02:57.393
Well.

00:02:57.393 --> 00:03:04.157
I don't want to keep you because I know that you, I have summoned Elizabeth here at the Spindle.

00:03:04.176 --> 00:03:04.497
Tap.

00:03:04.597 --> 00:03:12.250
Yeah, because this is such a unique venue I knew you guys would love it, but it is so off the wall.

00:03:12.250 --> 00:03:15.008
It's all about you and your weirdness.

00:03:15.008 --> 00:03:18.967
Who would know this is here?

00:03:19.068 --> 00:03:22.762
I found it, and 300 of his weirdest friends, so where?

00:03:22.842 --> 00:03:23.605
is the owner here.

00:03:23.605 --> 00:03:25.165
I haven't seen him yet.

00:03:26.163 --> 00:03:27.067
We haven't been here long.

00:03:27.340 --> 00:03:28.364
You know that there's three of them.

00:03:28.424 --> 00:03:32.923
Right, right, yeah, and I just found that out this morning, did they?

00:03:32.943 --> 00:03:33.947
take you on the back.

00:03:34.842 --> 00:03:36.125
I did that a few weeks ago.

00:03:36.125 --> 00:03:36.727
It's pretty cool.

00:03:36.727 --> 00:03:39.807
It is, it's very cool, and they bottle their own stuff and can it?

00:03:39.807 --> 00:03:47.604
Everything right here, which is really cool for a small brewery.

00:03:47.625 --> 00:03:48.967
It is Great beer too, by the way, Really.

00:03:49.408 --> 00:03:50.711
I don't know, we haven't had one yet.

00:03:50.711 --> 00:03:51.233
Well, I hear.

00:03:51.639 --> 00:03:52.562
I really don't get to partake in it.

00:03:52.602 --> 00:03:54.403
I think, you're in trouble, you're in trouble.

00:03:55.506 --> 00:03:56.747
What they wrangled me.

00:03:56.747 --> 00:03:58.229
I'm sorry.

00:03:58.270 --> 00:03:59.110
He was just passing by.

00:03:59.110 --> 00:03:59.852
We sat him down.

00:03:59.852 --> 00:04:03.015
He can go now because we've got his replacement All right.

00:04:04.117 --> 00:04:04.598
We love you.

00:04:04.598 --> 00:04:05.620
Thank you, you get the hot seat now.

00:04:05.740 --> 00:04:07.676
Bobby Sparkman is kind of in charge of all this?

00:04:07.717 --> 00:04:07.899
He is.

00:04:07.899 --> 00:04:09.305
He's the man.

00:04:10.127 --> 00:04:10.407
Thank you.

00:04:10.429 --> 00:04:12.406
Bobby, I'll catch up to you in a little bit.

00:04:12.580 --> 00:04:16.310
So our next guest is from the Spindletap Brewery people.

00:04:16.310 --> 00:04:21.822
Her name is Elizabeth Valentine, and I said would you come and be on with us?

00:04:21.822 --> 00:04:24.264
Oh God, why not?

00:04:24.264 --> 00:04:26.004
Were you scared?

00:04:26.245 --> 00:04:26.605
Hello.

00:04:26.605 --> 00:04:28.387
You know we're in 50 countries.

00:04:28.387 --> 00:04:29.327
Oh my gosh.

00:04:29.327 --> 00:04:30.928
Around the world, Around the world.

00:04:30.968 --> 00:04:32.271
I've been outside parking cars.

00:04:32.651 --> 00:04:33.071
Have you.

00:04:33.071 --> 00:04:38.896
Yeah, this is on top of the duties from yesterday's party that you had out here yes yes.

00:04:38.896 --> 00:04:40.456
Does your husband know what you do?

00:04:40.456 --> 00:04:51.182
He does, yes, he does what you do.

00:04:51.201 --> 00:04:51.622
He does, yes, he does.

00:04:51.622 --> 00:04:52.103
Has he ever?

00:04:52.124 --> 00:04:52.904
been out here at one of these events.

00:04:52.904 --> 00:04:53.206
Oh, absolutely.

00:04:53.206 --> 00:04:53.666
Has he come to tay?

00:04:53.666 --> 00:04:55.029
Why didn't he come today, of all the days he's with the little one?

00:04:55.029 --> 00:04:55.891
How old is the little one?

00:04:55.891 --> 00:04:56.091
She's six.

00:04:56.091 --> 00:05:08.995
So elizabeth valentine um is here, uh, and she kind of represents I'm going to say that represents the spindle tap really my title is Marketing and Events Manager, but with a small company it's kind of a jack-of-all-trades job.

00:05:08.995 --> 00:05:15.853
Yeah, so did you see the ad somewhere that they were looking for somebody like?

00:05:15.913 --> 00:05:16.742
you, or did you show up on your?

00:05:16.762 --> 00:05:16.942
doorstep.

00:05:16.963 --> 00:05:17.384
Is this a friend of?

00:05:17.444 --> 00:05:17.706
yours.

00:05:17.706 --> 00:05:18.468
How does that work?

00:05:18.680 --> 00:05:39.202
Well, actually my husband and I both used to work for a liquor distributor and Spindle Tap had contacted them looking for some whiskey barrels and so they actually touched base with my husband first and they just were talking and they said they needed somebody to help with marketing and events and stuff and he was like, oh well, my wife would be perfect for that.

00:05:39.935 --> 00:05:45.564
And the next thing you know, I was here, so your husband volunteered you for this.

00:05:45.615 --> 00:05:47.699
Yes, and now we're here, nine years later.

00:05:48.401 --> 00:05:49.305
Nine years?

00:05:49.365 --> 00:05:52.302
Yes, really Was this here nine years ago.

00:05:52.302 --> 00:05:53.875
This was here nine years ago, yes.

00:05:53.915 --> 00:05:56.764
Really, this is the best kept secret in Houston.

00:05:56.903 --> 00:05:57.285
It is.

00:05:57.475 --> 00:06:03.622
Man, if you ever wanted to get away or hide, this would be the place to go Because nobody knows about this.

00:06:03.682 --> 00:06:07.586
Yes, and we're family friendly, so you can bring your kids and hang out for the day.

00:06:08.516 --> 00:06:10.142
So what are the hours of this place?

00:06:10.435 --> 00:06:12.963
So we're open Tuesday through Sunday.

00:06:12.963 --> 00:06:15.622
Tuesdays and Wednesdays we open in the afternoon.

00:06:15.622 --> 00:06:23.026
Wednesdays we do a steak night, and then Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday we open at 11 am.

00:06:23.346 --> 00:06:23.608
Yeah.

00:06:24.336 --> 00:06:28.529
Sundays we close at 7, but Thursday, friday and Saturdays we're open until 10.

00:06:29.774 --> 00:06:30.115
Very good.

00:06:30.115 --> 00:06:32.444
How do people find out about this place?

00:06:32.995 --> 00:06:35.884
Well, there's still a lot of people finding out about it.

00:06:35.884 --> 00:06:39.846
We have people here come all the time, like I never knew this was here.

00:06:39.846 --> 00:06:42.463
It's kind of like our diamond in the rough.

00:06:42.463 --> 00:06:56.362
But yeah, I mean, we do our parts as far as you know, as much marketing as we can, and we do private events also, so we have lots of Kind of like that crazy thing that you did yesterday.

00:06:56.603 --> 00:06:57.995
Yes, exactly yes.

00:06:57.995 --> 00:07:02.387
That was a company event that was benefiting Texas Children's Hospital.

00:07:02.387 --> 00:07:12.341
So 300 people, cornhole tournament, crawfish boil, and then we have this event, of course, which is amazing, and then we have another event right after that.

00:07:12.682 --> 00:07:12.862
Do you?

00:07:12.862 --> 00:07:13.083
Yes, when?

00:07:13.083 --> 00:07:13.524
Tonight, this evening?

00:07:13.524 --> 00:07:14.307
Yes, this evening, right after that.

00:07:14.326 --> 00:07:14.728
Do you yes?

00:07:14.728 --> 00:07:14.829
When?

00:07:14.829 --> 00:07:15.490
Tonight, this evening?

00:07:15.490 --> 00:07:15.730
Yes.

00:07:16.031 --> 00:07:19.704
This evening, uh-huh, so you'll have just enough time to clean up this mess and then move on.

00:07:19.803 --> 00:07:21.841
Yes, it's going to be a quick turnaround, yeah.

00:07:22.375 --> 00:07:23.862
Do you want us to stay for that event too?

00:07:24.617 --> 00:07:25.339
Oh, you don't have to.

00:07:27.637 --> 00:07:28.137
We don't have to.

00:07:28.418 --> 00:07:31.221
We don't have to no we don Having a crawfish foil.

00:07:31.360 --> 00:07:33.242
But they don't have a radio show here.

00:07:33.322 --> 00:07:33.723
They don't.

00:07:34.543 --> 00:07:36.206
Did you ask them if they wanted one.

00:07:36.206 --> 00:07:37.507
I should have yes.

00:07:37.507 --> 00:07:40.451
You should have yeah, you can market us any time, okay.

00:07:43.855 --> 00:07:44.862
Actually what we're thinking about doing.

00:07:44.862 --> 00:07:45.745
What's the boss's name here?

00:07:45.745 --> 00:07:46.952
Yeah, brody Chapman.

00:07:48.077 --> 00:07:48.278
Okay.

00:07:55.735 --> 00:07:58.944
They want to open up a permanent broadcasting center right here at the Spindle Tap Worldwide For our worldwide broadcast on Saturday mornings.

00:07:58.944 --> 00:07:59.846
That would be great.

00:07:59.865 --> 00:08:01.478
Wouldn't it See?

00:08:01.478 --> 00:08:04.519
We wouldn't have to move anything, we could just come up here.

00:08:04.519 --> 00:08:05.863
We don't take our friends.

00:08:06.014 --> 00:08:11.709
This is like a perfect little nook too, because you're in all the action you can see outside.

00:08:11.795 --> 00:08:13.060
We only work three hours a week.

00:08:13.634 --> 00:08:14.175
Oh, that's awesome.

00:08:14.175 --> 00:08:14.636
I'm jealous, are you?

00:08:14.636 --> 00:08:15.117
You can see outside.

00:08:15.117 --> 00:08:15.997
We only work three hours a week.

00:08:16.017 --> 00:08:16.377
Oh, that's awesome.

00:08:16.377 --> 00:08:16.959
Yeah, I'm jealous, are you?

00:08:16.959 --> 00:08:21.004
Well, I have to tell you, when I came up here, I'm thinking am I in the right place?

00:08:21.004 --> 00:08:24.827
And she, it does an office in here.

00:08:24.827 --> 00:08:26.509
She offices next door.

00:08:26.509 --> 00:08:30.603
I found out, yes, because I go to the front door and it's locked Call her on the phone.

00:08:30.603 --> 00:08:31.206
Hey, I'm here.

00:08:35.455 --> 00:08:36.216
Oh yeah, just come on in next door.

00:08:36.216 --> 00:08:38.865
Yes, Yep, yep, we have four other businesses that operate out of here.

00:08:39.154 --> 00:08:41.283
And what other businesses do the boys have?

00:08:41.556 --> 00:08:43.514
So they have a logistics company.

00:08:43.514 --> 00:08:45.783
They do trucking hot shots.

00:08:45.783 --> 00:08:53.321
They have a crating company where they do big shipping crates, a fracking company Well, the brewery, obviously.

00:08:53.321 --> 00:09:00.010
And then they also do warehousing Racking Company well the brewery, obviously, and then they also do warehousing.

00:09:00.051 --> 00:09:04.903
All in this little nook in the corner of northeast Houston and they've got such a big yard to play in out here, yes, three and a half acres.

00:09:05.115 --> 00:09:09.326
Three and a half acres of grown-up play day out there.

00:09:09.434 --> 00:09:11.934
Yes, play day for all ages.

00:09:11.934 --> 00:09:16.206
We've got putt-putt golf, cornhole basketball, baseball.

00:09:16.206 --> 00:09:19.019
We've got horseshoes.

00:09:19.019 --> 00:09:20.283
There's stuff to do.

00:09:20.895 --> 00:09:23.065
And a place for the band to keep you entertained.

00:09:23.115 --> 00:09:24.679
We've got a stage for the band.

00:09:25.381 --> 00:09:26.264
We actually have two stages.

00:09:26.264 --> 00:09:28.743
We've got this pavilion out here and another one in the back.

00:09:28.823 --> 00:09:33.562
Yes, Fortunately we have some nice covered space, especially with Houston and Houston weather.

00:09:33.582 --> 00:09:38.019
When I came to visit you a month ago I was a little bit concerned we all were about the weather.

00:09:38.181 --> 00:09:38.381
Yes.

00:09:38.895 --> 00:09:41.724
And to do the broadcast we either got to take a tent or we got to.

00:09:41.724 --> 00:09:46.785
Yes, the logistics of doing this is a little bit more than most people think.

00:09:47.086 --> 00:09:52.462
Yes, so we always do things rain or shine, but we did put an additional tent up just in case.

00:09:52.643 --> 00:09:53.323
Gotcha.

00:09:53.323 --> 00:09:56.288
So I want to ask you how many beers are brewed here?

00:09:56.288 --> 00:10:03.922
A lot, but we do have, and these are all your own recipes and trial and error to make it.

00:10:04.001 --> 00:10:04.803
I like dark beer.

00:10:04.803 --> 00:10:05.625
You got any of that?

00:10:05.826 --> 00:10:06.246
We do.

00:10:06.246 --> 00:10:11.664
We have a stout, and we really more focus, though, on IPAs.

00:10:11.664 --> 00:10:15.278
That's kind of what we're known for, but we really have a beer for everybody.

00:10:15.298 --> 00:10:16.902
We know how you millennials are.

00:10:17.243 --> 00:10:20.428
I know Doody Beer snobs.

00:10:20.775 --> 00:10:22.831
My favorite beer is a Rita Margarita.

00:10:22.831 --> 00:10:23.355
That's my favorite beer.

00:10:23.576 --> 00:10:24.760
I also like those.

00:10:24.760 --> 00:10:26.658
Yeah, I don't discriminate.

00:10:26.698 --> 00:10:27.600
I've sampled a few.

00:10:28.663 --> 00:10:29.447
Yes, me too.

00:10:30.895 --> 00:10:34.464
So I'm thinking that beer's for everybody, yeah, um, so I'm thinking that beer's for everybody.

00:10:34.484 --> 00:10:34.563
Yeah.

00:10:34.563 --> 00:10:35.947
So we um kind of branched out.

00:10:35.947 --> 00:10:45.109
We really started um, what really made us kind of well-known was the hazy IPA phase.

00:10:45.109 --> 00:10:52.948
That happened like eight years ago, um, and then we ended up venturing because, you know, a lot of people are not craft beer drinkers.

00:10:52.948 --> 00:10:54.278
We do, um, private events here.

00:10:54.278 --> 00:10:56.023
So you know you have people here that aren't necessarily here because people are not craft beer drinkers.

00:10:56.023 --> 00:10:56.326
We do private events here.

00:10:56.326 --> 00:11:00.315
So you know you have people here that aren't necessarily here because they're a craft beer enthusiast.

00:11:00.315 --> 00:11:02.820
They're just here because there's their companies hosting an event.

00:11:02.820 --> 00:11:06.107
So we also have, you know, lighter options.

00:11:06.107 --> 00:11:14.186
The local lager is kind of similar to like a Michelob, like as far as carbs and calories.

00:11:14.186 --> 00:11:17.691
So it's called local lager, like low-cal Ah.

00:11:18.897 --> 00:11:20.065
A little play on that.

00:11:20.065 --> 00:11:24.554
Yes, it tastes better, though, since you and your husband were in the liquor business.

00:11:24.554 --> 00:11:26.441
I would imagine that you know your liquor.

00:11:26.802 --> 00:11:32.246
Yes, yeah, we've both been in the adult beverage industry our whole careers.

00:11:32.735 --> 00:11:34.888
We've been into adult beverages, but no industry.

00:11:34.969 --> 00:11:38.423
Yeah, we always have to fork over the money, but we support the industry.

00:11:38.961 --> 00:11:39.653
We support the industry.

00:11:41.028 --> 00:11:44.317
And we'll support it even better when I have a stout sitting right here.

00:11:44.457 --> 00:11:45.722
I will make that happen.

00:11:46.436 --> 00:11:48.182
Yes, well, we appreciate that.

00:11:48.182 --> 00:11:57.365
It's so funny because, from my experience with the Hot Rod Tour, all of this is happening right now as we speak.

00:11:57.365 --> 00:12:00.942
Yes, and then in an hour everybody will be gone, exactly.

00:12:00.962 --> 00:12:01.725
It's so weird.

00:12:01.725 --> 00:12:04.441
Yes, and then it's on to the next round.

00:12:04.923 --> 00:12:12.416
Yeah, so for you, all this means is a double tap day here at Spindle Tap, do you?

00:12:12.456 --> 00:12:19.658
have that often we do, and it's you know really, when.

00:12:19.658 --> 00:12:27.964
When we first started, it was all about the brewery, but now that we, we, we didn't always have this space over here, right, so we ended up purchasing that and putting was there something on it?

00:12:27.964 --> 00:12:33.884
Yeah, it was the church you tore the church down.

00:12:33.903 --> 00:12:34.365
Well you.

00:12:34.605 --> 00:12:36.349
You're changing water into wine.

00:12:36.576 --> 00:12:40.504
It's kind of a holy thing, but they couldn't convert it to beer.

00:12:42.557 --> 00:12:43.860
It was falling down.

00:12:43.880 --> 00:12:44.842
What would Jesus do?

00:12:46.226 --> 00:12:53.206
Yeah, we're thinking more along the lines of instead of the water to wine, we're thinking water to margaritas.

00:12:53.615 --> 00:12:54.676
That's a lot of margarita.

00:12:54.676 --> 00:12:55.456
No salt Frozen margarita.

00:12:55.456 --> 00:12:57.399
No salt Frozen margarita machines everywhere.

00:12:57.399 --> 00:12:59.201
I'm on the rocks, I'm on the rocks.

00:12:59.201 --> 00:12:59.802
There you go.

00:12:59.802 --> 00:13:03.225
Yeah, but yeah, we've grown a lot in the last nine years.

00:13:03.644 --> 00:13:08.591
I'll say so how many brewery establishments are there in Houston?

00:13:08.591 --> 00:13:09.711
I know of a couple others.

00:13:11.436 --> 00:13:16.548
There used to be a lot more um, unfortunately, you know, covid took out quite a few of them.

00:13:16.548 --> 00:13:27.635
Um, and then, just in general, um, the alcohol industry as a whole has been kind of struggling a bit, so, um, unfortunately a lot of them have shut down.

00:13:27.635 --> 00:13:40.217
There used to be a time um, most of them are in town, the heights area east downtown on this type of format or smaller much smaller, yes, um.

00:13:40.438 --> 00:13:56.725
So one thing that makes us unique is that we do have all this space right, kind of like a destination brewery like right and you can hide from somebody that you don't want to be with or see exactly oh, there's that aspect of it.

00:13:56.885 --> 00:13:59.101
I'm sorry, how big is your distribution area?

00:13:59.101 --> 00:14:03.166
I mean, how far out can your product be found besides here?

00:14:04.658 --> 00:14:09.722
So we usually focus on the backyard first, but we are in seven different states.

00:14:09.722 --> 00:14:16.301
We have a good presence in Austin, san Antonio, dallas, okay, okay, louisiana is a really big market for us.

00:14:16.301 --> 00:14:21.926
Cool, yes, so basically we have distributors in each region.

00:14:22.575 --> 00:14:24.962
Do you bottle it or is it distributed?

00:14:24.962 --> 00:14:25.565
You can't.

00:14:25.575 --> 00:14:30.447
So we only bottle one beer a year, and that's for our anniversary event.

00:14:31.674 --> 00:14:33.381
And that changes every year in what you're putting in it.

00:14:33.875 --> 00:14:37.181
Yeah, it's usually a stout, so I'll have to get you one of those.

00:14:37.381 --> 00:14:37.601
Yes.

00:14:39.336 --> 00:14:41.222
Yeah, but other than that we can only.

00:14:42.375 --> 00:14:44.062
And there's a canning thing back there.

00:14:44.154 --> 00:14:46.802
Yep, we've got a canning line Somebody asked me what do they do.

00:14:46.955 --> 00:14:56.038
I said I don't know what they do there, but I think that the guys that own the place really wanted to have a place to go after work and they built their own brand brewery in there Pretty much.

00:14:56.278 --> 00:15:01.586
Yeah, Spindle Tap came from Spindle Top, Texas.

00:15:01.866 --> 00:15:02.086
Yes.

00:15:02.475 --> 00:15:15.849
And they got that name and idea because the logistics company was mostly in the oil and gas industry, so they ended up naming it Spindle Tap and then that's kind of how we went with the oil derrick themes.

00:15:16.336 --> 00:15:26.587
Yes, we're familiar with that Houston Oilers, houston Oilers and as you can see, we're very much Houston sports and all things Houston.

00:15:28.296 --> 00:15:34.427
So are there certain days of the week that obviously you've got games that kids can play?

00:15:34.427 --> 00:15:38.442
Yes, are there certain days or hours that kids aren't allowed in here, like after seven?

00:15:38.503 --> 00:15:45.182
or must be 21 or no, so um, we are family friendly all the time all the time unless it's a private event.

00:15:45.182 --> 00:15:48.035
That gotcha, they don't want it to be right.

00:15:48.035 --> 00:15:54.144
But yes, that's kind of like the new thing now, like you can bring your kid to the bar.

00:15:54.926 --> 00:15:56.288
Well, it's not to me.

00:15:56.288 --> 00:15:58.490
This isn't a bar atmosphere, it's not.

00:15:58.615 --> 00:16:01.063
Yeah, we wanted it to be everybody.

00:16:01.063 --> 00:16:03.363
The owners are very family-oriented.

00:16:03.363 --> 00:16:04.700
They all have kids.

00:16:04.700 --> 00:16:10.508
They really wanted a place where friends and families could come and hang out and stay a while.

00:16:10.508 --> 00:16:13.214
There's activities for the kids.

00:16:13.214 --> 00:16:26.815
We're pretty enclosed, enclosed so it's, you know, fairly safe away from the rest of the community right, so they can run around they'll tear the church down or jump on the train, yeah so so you have a food truck out here right now.

00:16:26.835 --> 00:16:33.546
Yes, do you usually have a food truck for events or just yes, so we have.

00:16:33.886 --> 00:16:36.309
it's Texas, their wood fire pizza.

00:16:36.309 --> 00:16:39.423
He also does private catering, though.

00:16:39.423 --> 00:16:41.222
He does really amazing barbecue.

00:16:41.222 --> 00:16:43.162
He does our steak nights also.

00:16:43.162 --> 00:16:52.008
He does some really amazing hamburgers too, actually, but when he is not on site, we do use other food truck vendors and have them out here.

00:16:52.134 --> 00:16:53.681
So you don't have anything in-house.

00:16:53.822 --> 00:16:55.236
Right no kitchen in-house.

00:16:55.256 --> 00:17:05.381
Not yet Not not yet that's going to be the next jersey tear down on the other lot, that's not a bad idea because of the you know just uh he was okay with it.

00:17:05.560 --> 00:17:10.336
It was competition too close got you that's it all right.

00:17:11.337 --> 00:17:12.682
Well, hey, thank you so much.

00:17:12.701 --> 00:17:15.327
I I'm glad that I answered your phone.

00:17:15.756 --> 00:17:18.784
I should have said something to you earlier and didn't and forgot.

00:17:18.784 --> 00:17:19.566
Imagine that.

00:17:19.566 --> 00:17:21.681
But, we thank you very much.

00:17:21.701 --> 00:17:22.683
Absolutely, thank you.

00:17:23.277 --> 00:17:31.728
You've been a great host and we appreciate you and we'll get out of here soon, but I am going to take you up on that dart that stout, that dart stout Okay.

00:17:36.556 --> 00:17:37.522
And you let me know if y'all want anything too.

00:17:37.542 --> 00:17:37.986
I've never had a stout.

00:17:37.986 --> 00:17:40.900
Oh well, you need to try one, I don't know if I'm old enough to have a stout.

00:17:41.321 --> 00:17:43.421
Two straws, Two straws yeah.

00:17:43.494 --> 00:17:45.863
We're not having two straws, that's a story yeah.

00:17:45.863 --> 00:17:49.135
Thank you, hey, thank you very much.

00:17:49.135 --> 00:17:50.277
Thank you again.

00:17:50.277 --> 00:17:56.910
Yes, elizabeth Valentine Spindle, tap Brewery.

00:17:57.640 --> 00:17:58.583
Let's everybody say it.

00:17:59.928 --> 00:18:01.862
Thank you Coming up.

00:18:01.862 --> 00:18:06.388

00:20:36.163 --> 00:20:36.583
I've been on it.

00:20:36.583 --> 00:20:38.263
It's a big road, kind of high speed.

00:20:38.263 --> 00:20:40.785
It's across from the Academy on 1604.

00:20:40.785 --> 00:20:50.211
And then you've got Woodlands Cars Coffee for a Cruise, May 4th, 630 am to 1030 am at the Market Street in Woodlands at Uni Sushi.

00:20:50.211 --> 00:20:55.673
You've been there and it's at the 95-95 Six Pines Drive in Spring, Texas.

00:20:55.713 --> 00:20:57.935
We went up there and ate some squid and octopus or something.

00:20:57.935 --> 00:20:58.695
There you go.

00:20:58.695 --> 00:21:01.998
I know Fish bait, fish bait, there you go, that's what we call it.

00:21:02.160 --> 00:21:04.067
There's nothing better than gas station sushi.

00:21:04.067 --> 00:21:11.701
I'm telling you Pistons at the park, that's, at Austin Park, at Interstate 35, in Pflugerville, pflugerville, pflugerville.

00:21:11.701 --> 00:21:15.604
We encourage everyone with anything on, come out and show off your sweet ride.

00:21:15.604 --> 00:21:16.964
That includes you, david.

00:21:16.964 --> 00:21:21.366
Come to this event, no judging, just come out, socialize all that good stuff.

00:21:21.366 --> 00:21:30.510
Respect the property, all the things that we normally do at a tour or a hot rod event Respect the people around you, respect the community.

00:21:30.510 --> 00:21:32.092
So that's what I have, uh-oh.

00:21:32.092 --> 00:21:33.252
Thank you very much.

00:21:33.472 --> 00:21:34.232
I got a root beer.

00:21:34.232 --> 00:21:35.634
Look at that.

00:21:35.634 --> 00:21:39.816
I will tell you that that is probably the best dark beer I think I've had ever.

00:21:40.175 --> 00:21:43.298
And then we've got Lone Star and Granberry.

00:21:43.758 --> 00:21:49.084
Yeah, there you go had to mention that Not to bring everybody down, but huh, don't do that, I know.

00:21:49.084 --> 00:21:49.763
So what did you get?

00:21:49.763 --> 00:21:52.346
Ipa, of course you did.

00:21:52.346 --> 00:21:53.288
Okay, millennial.

00:21:53.288 --> 00:21:56.412
Nah, what are you going to get Mars?

00:21:56.951 --> 00:21:57.653
I'm going to get the bill.

00:21:57.653 --> 00:22:00.435
I'm going to try one of these, but I ask her for just like half of one or something.

00:22:00.435 --> 00:22:03.326
I'm not a real beer drinker anymore.

00:22:03.387 --> 00:22:04.253
I'm not either, but that is really good.

00:22:04.253 --> 00:22:04.798
Well, I'm going to try it.

00:22:04.798 --> 00:22:11.650
All right, so not to bring everybody down what, but this is a story about a woman that was killed.

00:22:11.810 --> 00:22:13.765
Oh, no, and the man behind the wheel.

00:22:13.805 --> 00:22:34.460
Everybody down though you're talking about car crash and it's amanda cervadio 36, was cycling home from a group bike ride in new york when she was struck and killed by a speeding driver whose license plate had 80 camera issued speeding or red light tickets since mid 19 I'm sorry, mid 2022.

00:22:34.460 --> 00:22:38.667
Wow, beckham fisicube.

00:22:38.667 --> 00:22:57.267
The man behind the wheel, according to police, is alleged to be the type of driver being targeted by legislation in new york that would install aftermarket speed limiters on vehicles with six or more speed or red light camera tickets in a year, as well as any driver who receives 11 or more points.

00:22:57.267 --> 00:22:59.152
It's's a system that they have in New York?

00:22:59.240 --> 00:23:00.230
Yeah, we have that in Michigan too.

00:23:00.840 --> 00:23:02.105
On their license in two years.

00:23:03.087 --> 00:23:14.330
New York's not alone Nearly passed legislation from Washington State Takes effect in 2029 and will require reckless drivers to install intelligent speed assistance devices.

00:23:14.330 --> 00:23:21.949
Virginia's intelligent speed assistance law, signed by the Republican governor up there, will go into effect in 2026.

00:23:21.949 --> 00:23:42.551
Legislators from California, arizona and Maryland have proposed bills that require the use of speed limiters for reckless drivers, and Intelligent Speed Assistance systems capture the speed limit based on some combination of cameras, roadsides, gps and virtual maps.

00:23:42.551 --> 00:24:01.300
Devices such as ignition interlocks from Smart Start, sturdy's Lifesaver and Magtech SafeSpeed would be installed on the vehicle and interface with the throttle to resist drivers' ability to travel faster than a predetermined limit In New York.

00:24:01.300 --> 00:24:07.642
Affected drivers would not be able to exceed five miles per hour above the speed limit In New York.

00:24:07.642 --> 00:24:16.859
Drivers would be required to install the devices in lieu of licensed suspension and would have to pay for the cost of the device with allowances for low-income drivers.

00:24:16.859 --> 00:24:25.690
National Cooperative Highway Research Program has estimated that as many as 75% of drivers with suspended licenses continue to drive.

00:24:25.690 --> 00:24:30.287
So interesting they need that here in the state of Texas.

00:24:30.500 --> 00:24:32.768
Well, it's interesting, but I kind of don't like it.

00:24:32.768 --> 00:24:37.630
You know big brother coming in and I don't need him any further in my business than what he already is.

00:24:37.650 --> 00:24:39.883
They're already in it, buddy, unless you break the law.

00:24:39.883 --> 00:24:41.026
Yeah, but how are you?

00:24:41.086 --> 00:24:48.450
going to know that's me driving your car or you driving your car, because it's monitoring the car, not the driver.

00:24:48.790 --> 00:24:51.042
That's the problem well, they don't drive the cars.

00:24:52.828 --> 00:24:58.564
The driver of the car I know but the next step is to take the rental cars and say, okay, all the rental cars can't go any faster than this.

00:24:59.085 --> 00:25:19.593
Okay, so there's one other item that I want to get in before the end of the show, and that is that Nissan North America is suing a New Jersey dealership and its floor plan lender, seeking damages and in order allowing it to repossess unsold vehicles, the store refused to surrender.

00:25:19.593 --> 00:25:34.469
The federal judge alleges infinity of Inglewood failed to pay Nissan more than $3.4 million for 64 vehicles delivered last fall 64 vehicles were $3-something billion.

00:25:34.469 --> 00:25:34.931
Golly okay.

00:25:34.931 --> 00:25:38.388
They're going to jail and they're going to owe an awful lot of money.

00:25:38.608 --> 00:25:39.351
And give the cars back.

00:25:39.351 --> 00:25:41.426
Well, they've already taken the cars.

00:25:41.599 --> 00:25:44.025
Yeah, I never understood People that make a lot of money.

00:25:44.025 --> 00:25:46.506
Sometimes they get greedy and they just want to make more money.

00:25:46.506 --> 00:25:47.905
How much more money do you need?

00:25:47.905 --> 00:25:52.210
I know how much more money I need, but I don't know how much more money they need.

00:25:52.210 --> 00:25:54.803
I know you bought a Rambler earlier today.

00:25:54.843 --> 00:25:55.443
Yeah, rambler earlier today.

00:25:55.463 --> 00:25:55.884
Yeah, you did.

00:25:55.884 --> 00:25:58.907
I sold you a rambler, an ugly rambler, convertible.

00:25:58.928 --> 00:26:01.431
It's yours now, my little brother had four ramblers.

00:26:01.431 --> 00:26:02.712
He loved them.

00:26:03.213 --> 00:26:04.836
I don't know why you call him your little brother.

00:26:06.279 --> 00:26:08.244
My younger brother, your dumb brother had four ramblers.

00:26:08.265 --> 00:26:14.690
Sorry, I don't know your brother, but I just Never mind he's from another mother.

00:26:15.332 --> 00:26:15.732
Yeah.

00:26:19.060 --> 00:26:20.107
A brother from another mother From another mother.

00:26:20.107 --> 00:26:20.652
Yeah, let's don't go there.
