Unfortiunately, it was announced late 2021 that the Houston Raceway Park would be closing after the 2022 NHRA Spring Nationals, a key highlight event of NHRA. The combination of an excellant facility, 'management and weather has made the Houston track known as a record setting facilty. Things being what they are, the land the track sits on changed hands and is bound for a different use.
The good news here is that the plans for the change has been delayed so instead of the 2022 NHRA Spring Nationals being the last event, the track will continue to operate for the remainder of the 2022 race season. Seth Angel joins In Wheel Time Car Talk with more.
