The idea of a bunch of hot rodders getting together is nothing new. It has been going on for who knows how long - almost any town across America probably has a hang- out for Friday or Saturday night. Maybe even on a spring Sunday afternoon.
When we first talked with Bobby Sparkman, Victoria, Texas, we thought we were going to be talking with another cruize-in organizer, or maybe a show and shine car show. Whooops...we were wrong.
According to Bobby, 'Our mission is to bring like minded car and truck enthusiast together to get their vehicles out of the garage for a multi-day event across Texas in a family friendly environment.'
From this idea, the Hot Rod Tour of Texas was born. Now in the second year, 300-automotive enthusiasts signed up to start the tour in Victoria, Texas. Don Armstrong make the initial event, and this year, the rest of the crew couldn't stand not getting involved. So we met up with the tour and tagged along talking to some of the participants and the a few of the hosts.
We are picking up at the first stop out of Victoria, the CY Distillery in Sequin, Texas.
