General Motors has made a lot of changes over the years, even dropping some brands along the way. They also have had several partnership and manufacturing facilities around the world. In fact, a very popular vehicle down in Australia is, was, the Holden. There are several models include one called a UTE, or utility vehicle. Here in the states, we called the Chevrolet mode an El Camino or maybe the GMC version a Sprint.
As we were sitting up the broadcast, we saw a bright white with blue trim Holden UTE roll into the Tailpipes & Tacos event. It was the first one any of us have seen in the wild, but here in Houston, we have one on the streets, complete with right-hand drive.
It gets even better when we track down owner Danny Shuhart, as he joins us to tell us about his 'other' Holdens....!

The Tailpipe & Taco Cruisein is held at Lupe' Tortillas restaurant in Katy, Texas, 8a-11amCT. There is always a great mix of vehicles ranging from classics, to muscle cars, sports cars, imports, pickup trucks, hot rods, and even some sling shots show up when the sun is shining.
In addition to being a great cruize in event, this is also a fund raiser supporting Shirley's Kids - a foundation established by the Queen of Drag Racing, Ms. Shirley Muldowney. The restaurant opens early with breakfast tacos, coffee, and a wide variety of beverages with all the processed going to Shirley's Kids. Shirley actually attended one of the 2019 events, and when she wasn't talking on the air with In Wheel Time, she was signing autographs all morning. We do hope that she gets to come this way again.
